1:30-2:00 Open House for New Families

2:00-3:00 Open House for All


The Open House for the 2016-2017 School year will be held on Thursday, August 25th.  New families to Carrolltowne are invited to attend a brief introduction of Administration and Office staff from 1:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.  Open House for all Carrolltowne families will immediately follow this brief gathering of our new families.

Open House Tour for both new and returning families will run from 2:00-3:00 p.m. All returning families can enter through the front doors at 2:00 p.m. to visit their child's classroom(s) and tour the school.
Things to do when visiting us on Open House:
  • Set up lunch accounts and receive your child's PIN number from the Cafeteria (Make Checks payable to Carrolltowne Elementary)
  • Confirm that your child's transportation form(s) have been received by the school office (we must have these prior to the first day of school to know how to dismiss your child on the first day and everyday thereafter)
  • Drop off your child's school supplies to your child's homeroom teacher
  • Pick up Kindergarten and Pre-K transportation tags from your child's classroom
We look forward to meeting our new families and seeing our returning families on Thursday, August 25th!


The Student Transportation Form must be completed for each student attending Carrolltowne Elementary.

For students who will be walkers, car riders, daycare van transportation, or with our on site daycare program Hot Spots, please complete the form for each child and return it to the attention of Donna Glasscock no later than August 1st.

BUS RIDERS.  For students who will be bus riders, you will find your bus routes and bus number information posted on the CCPS website ( beginning August 1.  Please keep in mind that bus numbers and/or routes may change from previous years.  Your child will be sent home via the bus number that you provide on the form.  Return the form to the attention of Donna Glasscock no later than August 10th.

Information for every student must be entered into the electronic transportation record prior to the first day of school so that the office and your child's teacher knows how to dismiss him/her on the first day of school and every day thereafter.

Also, for parents/guardians of students entering kindergarten, a transportation tag will be made for your child to wear beginning with the first day of school/arrival.  You can pick up the tag during the Open House which will be held on Thursday, August 25th.  More information regarding the Open House will follow.  If you are not able to attend the Open House, please call the school the week of August 15th to make arrangements to pick up your child's transportation tag.

School day begins at 9:15 a.m.

Dismissal begins at 3:45 p.m.

6:00 - 6:30 p.m. Principal's Chat

6:30 - 7:30 p.m.  Session 1

7:30 - 8:30 p.m.  Session 2

Each session (6:30 - 7:30; 7:30 - 8:30) is identical.  This provides the opportunity for those with more than one child at Carrolltowne to visit each child's classroom.

CHANGE OF DISMISSAL EMAIL (only ONE group email to the following):  To submit a change of dismissal please click here and add your child's teacher's name OR copy and paste the following contacts into your address box and add your child's teacher's name:

Please put child's name (first and last), grade, and teacher in the body of the email along with the change of dismissal instructions.  Requests for a change of dismissal MUST be submitted before 3:15 p.m.

All dismissal changes submitted before 3:15 p.m. will receive a confirmation/reply by 3:15 p.m.  If you do not receive a reply by 3:15, call the office at 410-751-3530.
