About FSK

Francis Scott Key High School is part of the Carroll County Public School System. It is a comprehensive high school in Union Bridge, MD. Located on Bark Hill Rd., it serves the north west community of Carroll County including the towns of Union Bridge, New Windsor, and Taneytown. It has a functional capacity of 1200 students and currently serves over 940 students.  The mascot is the eagle, and the school colors are red, white, and blue.

Mission Statement

FSK is an ever-changing, historic community, rich in tradition and pride. Our mission is to nurture and support students as they mature socially, ethically and emotionally while encouraging them to achieve academic excellence and a healthy lifestyle. We recognize and value each student as an individual. Through a diverse and rigorous program of study, we empower students with the confidence and skills of the 21st century needed to successfully navigate the challenges of adult life in a global society.

1.1 Instructional leaders within each department will develop professional development activities and BEST practices for designing student centered engaging lessons within content areas.

Departments will present two activities that exemplify student centered teaching within their department and share these lessons in a gallery walk to staff.
 
Feedback and question sessions will be used to determine the effectiveness of the best practices developed by departments. 
1.2 Trans-Disciplinary Committees will examine Action Plans and identify specific areas to focus on student engagement within their plans.
