Software

Math software provides children with hands-on learning, opportunities to manipulate data, immediate feedback, interactive instruction, independent practice, and self-paced learning. There are a variety of Mathematics software titles. The following provides an annotated list of software titles that may be available at your school:

McGraw-Hill Math Van / Math ToolChest (K-2, 3-6)

This software can be used for teacher or student modeling of concepts to help build understanding. Interactive manipulatives, various workmats, and multimedia mathematics tools help mathematics concepts become more concrete.

Mighty Math Carnival Countdown (K-2)

Five engaging activities invite students to explore and develop K-2nd grade math skills. Dozens of math topics and thousands of problems help students grasp basic math concepts and develop problem-solving skills. At this math-filled carnival, students focus on one- and two-digit addition and subtraction, 2D geometry, patterns, equivalencies, logic, attributes, and early multiplication and division.

Mighty Math Zoo Zillions (K-2)

Ryan the Lion, the Otter Twins, and other animal friends guide students on a numerical adventure that's wild with excitement. Five fun-filled activities introduce students to addition, subtraction, story problems, number facts, 3D shapes, counting money, and making change.

Mighty Math Number Heroes (3-6)

Visit the math metropolis where four friendly Number Heroes host exciting activities that promote investigation and experimentation. Students master fractions, multiplication, division, 2D geometry, and probability as they create dazzling fireworks displays, test their wits at a math game show, solve geometric challenges, and graph data.

Mighty Math Calculating Crew (3-6)

Students learn about multiplication and division of whole numbers and decimals, number line concepts, 3D shapes and their properties, and money transactions. In four activities, students recover hidden treasures, deliver essential supplies to a distant planet, and examine 2D shapes and 3D solids.

Mighty Math Astro Algebra (7-9)

Astro Algebra teaches the concepts and problem-solving skills necessary to learn basic algebra. Students learn how to graph functions, translate word problems into solvable equations, and represent algebraic expressions using the program's Virtual Manipulatives. Hundreds of problems in over 90 space missions provide students with a solid foundation for success in algebra and beyond.

Mighty Math Cosmic Geometry (7-9)

In Cosmic Geometry, students explore attributes of shapes and solids, constructions and transformations, 2D and 3D coordinates, and the relationships between length, perimeter, area, and volume. Winding their way through a 3D maze, assembling robots, creating tessellating patterns, and making movies of geometric constructions, students develop a strong foundation for geometry and its real-world applications.

The Graph Club (K-4)

The Graph Club is an easy-to-use graphing tool which can be used for self-directed exploration, lessons and presentations, or creative class projects. Conduct a survey in your school, graph the results as a class, print your graph poster-size, and display it in the school hallway. The possibilities are endless!

Graph Master (4-8)

With Graph Master, students learn to graph and analyze data to solve problems. After collecting and entering data, students select the variables, scale, and graph type appropriate for their data. The program’s filter, sort, and compare features help students analyze data in different ways. Graph Master also includes a built-in notebook where students can record observations, conclusions, and answers to problems.
