Early Childhood News & Updates

Annie Blonkowski is the current Early Childhood Supervisor.  She has been principal at Mt. Airy Elementary and Parr's Ridge Elementary. Since 1975, her experience has been in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.  If you have any questions regarding Carroll County's Early Childhood Program, please contact Annie.

Prekindergarten information is available at schools during Kindergarten Registration Week which begins in March.   If your child is 4 on or before September 1 and meets the financial criteria, please contact your local elementary school for information.

All children who are 5 on or before September 1 must be enrolled in Kindergarten.  Enrollment information is available during Kindergarten Registration Week which begins in March.  Students will begin school in August.  Parents are encourage to watch the local paper for bus pick-up locations and times.  Information will be sent from the schools regarding class assignments. 



Early Childhood Education Programs:

The Carroll County Public Schools’ Early Childhood Programs include Prekindergarten, Kindergarten, and Judy Center which includes Parents As Teachers (PAT).

Judy Center Partnership of Carroll County is a state funded initiative to promote school readiness for children birth through five years of age and their family.

Kindergarten is a full day program provided for students who live in Carroll County and reach the age of 5 on or before September 1.

Prekindergarten provides direct instruction for students who are income-eligible and four years old on or before September 1.

PAT (Parents As Teachers)  is a program for parents and children, ages birth through 5.  PAT educators help parents and young children.
